Selma Blair: A Dirty Shame

JoBlo.com has an interview with Selma Blair, talking about her new upcoming movie A Dirty Shame.
She stars as Caprice Stickles (aka Ursula Udders), forced to share the screen with her massively fake mammories, that put every Howard Stern bimbo to shame. Playing a sexually charged go-go dancer, she fights for the right to show off her body in a repressed town.

Mel Brooks' Spaceballs - Part II

Ain't it Cool News has posted an excerpt from an interview with Mel Brooks in which he talks about a sequel to Spaceballs a "Star Wars" spoof that has so much potential for an encore now that Episodes 1-3 are in the can.
When asked about a release date for "Spaceballs 2," Brooks had this to say: "Best case scenario : a week before the new 'Star Wars' opens. Worst Case Scenario : a year after the new 'Star Wars' opens."
Presumably, he will write, direct, and star in the film.

I already told you where to get an invitation for free, so don't pay for it.

Non-proprietary presentation programs

LWN has an article about different non-proprietary presentation programs for Linux or BSD. So you don't have to install a dual-boot system with a Windows OS somewhere to be able to do some presentations any longer.
For my next presentation I will try one of these, because I always hate to use the PowerPoint for Mac OS X by Microsoft. But maybe I am just too stupid for the GUI to do what I want.

Hidden Features on Star Wars Trilogy DVDs

DVDreview released some information on the hidden features on the new Star Wars DVDs. My copy is still waiting for me in Karlsruhe. Tomorrow afternoon I will be able to put my hands on it.

Lucas destroys your Xbox

The new Star Wars bonus DVD erases elements of your Xbox's firmware without informing you or giving you a chance to decline. This is apparently deliberate, as part of an "anti-piracy" effort aimed at punishing people who play the Star Wars DVD bonus disk in a modded Xbox.

This information can be important for some people with older bioses (booting xboxdash.xbe), people using exploits or simply those who don't want their dash upgraded.

Fantastic Four Pictures - officially.

Now the studio has released the official pictures of the Fantastic Four after we had the chance to take a sneak view at them yesterday. Comic Book Resources for example has links to the high resolution pictures of Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben.

Hit the Road

This weekend I have to move from Lübeck to Karlsruhe again. I am not in the mood but there is no chance to cancel the trip.
Don't wonder when there are no news here in the next few days, because most of the weekend I won't be able to be online.

Rosamund Pike signed on "DOOM"

Rosamund Pike has signed on to star in Universal Pictures' upcoming video game adaptation "Doom." As I read at dTheatre the movie will have the story of the game Doom3, that has been released a few months ago.
Pike will play a scientist opposite Karl Urban, who will play the leader of a special-ops team at the centre of the action-adventure picture.
Andrzej Bartkowiak will direct the movie where Dave Callaham has written the script for.

George Lucas has some news

dTheatre: 'George Lucas discussed "Revenge of the Sith" while speaking with the Empire: "Everyone gets killed in the end," he said.  He also denied the "Star Wars" 7-9 rumors and talked a bit about the fourth installment of the "Indiana Jones" series.'

First Look at the Fantastic Four!

USA Today has published this first picture of Jessica Alba as Sue Storm online. And Comming soon has scans of all four members of the FF in costume!
I've never been that huge FF fan but if Sue Storm would have looked like Jessica Alba in the comic books I might have bought more issues.

Russ Meyer's dead

Russ Meyer, the legendary sexploitation auteur who made T&A an art form in such films as "The Immoral Mr. Teas", "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!", and "Supervixens", died this weekend at age 82. He lived a long life, full of glamour and boobies.

BBC News has an interesting article about new data showing that patterns of water and methane in Mars' atmosphere overlap may have important implications for the idea that the planet could harbour life. The finding comes from the Mars Express probe in orbit around the planet.

Author of Sasser has new job

The creator of the destructive NetSky and Sasser worms, Sven Jaschan, has been hired by German security company Securepoint. Jaschan was charged this month with computer sabotage.
Lutz Hausmann, technical director at Securepoint, learned of Jaschan's desire to work in the security industry from an interview in Stern. "He has some know-how but not a high level of skills in software development. He was the best from people who wanted a job," Hausmann said.
"I'm sure most people have serious doubts about a security company hiring a virus writer. No doubt Securepoint will have to explain their decision over and over again," said Mikko Hyppönen, director of anti-virus research at Finnish AV firm F-Secure. But he also thinks we really should try to rehabilitate criminals to enter normal working life again and to become a productive part of the society.

Salma becomes a hot Bandida

Just read at JoBlo.com that Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz will be main characters in the upcoming movie Bandidas. Salma looks very much like she did in Wild Wild West. Hot. Even when the movie was most crap.
Shotnews.com got some sneaky peeky pictures at the lovely Ms. Hayek in full big-bossomed regalia this past weekend, so take a look.

Star Wars Credit Cards

Addicted again while waiting for my copy of the old trilogy on DVD I took a sharper look at the Star Wars homepage and found a funny collectible: a Star Wars Credit Card. But it is not that hot news, because they are available since end of 2002 already.
"The Star Wars credit card... more widely accepted than Republic Credits."

Episode 7,8,9 Rumors

Just read in a few days old posting on dTheatre that Mark Hamill talked about a third episode and what Lucas has told him about it and his original plans for those plans. And Lucasfilm's Jim Ward confirms that a "Star Wars" TV series is on the way in the near future.
But I have no idea when and where Mark said all this. Maybe it's an twenty year old interview...

Gmail accounts without invitation

Some people at isnoop.net designed an automatic Gmail invite spooler. People who have a Gmail account can send their invitations to the spooler's address (gmail@isnoop.net) and they will be automatically added to an available pool. People who need addresses can then get invites from this pool, as necessary.
So, having a Gmail account won't be anything special now.

100 years of Spam?

Just read it here:

In fact, 100 years ago, Cunard sent out telegrams to selected (rich) members of the British social elite, advertising tickets on a new liner, and becoming the first spammer.

But they don't tell anything about their source of information.

New Low-end Cisco Routers

Cisco is to upgrade its line of low-end routers with improved security and networking features. The new 1800 series, 2800 series and 3800 series of integrated service routers will make it easier for firms to roll IP Telephony functions across intranets. The upgrade is designed to defend Cisco's market dominance against competitors in the small business networking segment including 3Com and Juniper Networks. Early reports suggest the routers add support line cards that run Linux alongside Cisco’s own Internetwork Operating System (IOS). [read @ The Register]

StarWars Trilogy DVD Box

Digital Bits released the probably first review of the upcoming (!) Star Wars Trilogy DVD Box. We all have been afraid that Lucasfilm finally wracked the trilogy by changing and re-cutting the first three chapters of the Star Wars Saga, but Digital Bits seem to be quite pleased by the fourth version of our favorite Star Wars episodes.

Kevin talks about new Clerks flick

Kevin Smith gives lots of interesting information at the message board of his official site.

[...]

- This isn't an "I'm not even supposed to be here today... AGAIN!"-heavy, wink-wink affair. We barely refer to the first flick (though I do love Lynch's proposed tagline of "They Still Don't Like You"; considering the tone of the script, an even more appropriate tagline would be "They Like You Even Less").

- This is the funniest thing I've ever written. It's also really poignant.

- The flick's in both black & white and color.

Nothing to worry in Hannover

Last weekend I've been in Hannover to visit a friend. It was almost like holidays.
I forgot the modem cable to get online there with the powerbook, so there was no use for the laptop at all. So I was forced to take a time-out from all computer stuff and that was very relaxing.
Hannover isn't such a beautiful city as Lübeck is. Too much noise, too much smog and it smells everywhere.
But who cares. I enjoyed beeing there, visiting my friend, talking and laughing a lot and not to worry about anything at all.

How to annoy gmail

Today I recognized that gCount wasn't able to login to gmail that often. So I tried to login on the website myself. But after I entered my password I got another login window where I had to type in some stupid string to login.

I really hope this will change back again, when I promise not to check for new mails again every 5 minutes.

Helsinki is hell*

Tonight I took a look at irc-galleria again. I haven't been around since a few months and it isn't that much fun, if you don't understand much finnish. But it is kinda fun to take a look at those pictures. I am quite sure, that the Finnish are funny people. Even if they tell you that most people don't think so.
