A Byte of Python

Version 1.20 of the free online tutorial/book has been released on 13 January, 2005.
'A Byte of Python' is a book on programming using the Python language. It serves as a tutorial or guide to the Python language for anyone. If all you know about your computers is how to save text files, then this is the book for you. If you are an experienced programmer who loves C, Perl or Java, you can also learn Python from this book.

IRC: 99.9% Illegal

The author of IRC Hacks set out to find whether or not this was true. His conclusions are quite alarming, suggesting that 99.9% of IRC traffic to the top 60 channels usage is illegal. Paul Mutton also wrote PieSpy, a bot for Visualizing Social Networks on IRC.

Bought a Xbox

I almost forgot. Last week I bought a Xbox. First I was looking for a Playstation 2, because I was able to play Grand Tourismo 3 at the weekend. While I wasn't able to get a PS2, because all had been sold before christmas, a workmate told me about the Xbox and that it is much more fun than a PS2. He has both, so he should be able to tell.
Getting a Xbox wasn't that much easier. No store had one anymore. My last call was at Toys R Us, and they had two Xboxes available. I had to take some kind of special edition with two controllers, which was a good deal. I would have bought a second one for my girlfriend anyway.

News on Apple

You probably read it on other sites yesterday and this morning: there are some neat news on Apple. Mac mini and iPod Shuffle appeared in the last 24 hours on Apple's homepage.
For details take a look there. I am looking forward for that iPod Shuffle, because it seems that is the first MP3-Player from Apple wich is affordable. But I am kinda sad, that it got no display at all. I know that is the gag but I don't care!
